The office for combating cyber crime has revealed a case of child pornography and breach of privacy on the Internet; a case was filed against a 16-year-old.
The investigation started after complaints were filed by three girls aged 14 and 15 who came to the cyber crime office in person.
According to the complaints, an unknown individual created a Facebook account showing obscene photographs of underaged girls, among them pictures of the three girls who filed the warning.
The case was handed to the prosecution, and a preliminary investigation was initiated.
The web exploration and joint action with Internet service providers detected the owner and administrator of the Facebook account.
The investigation found that the account was run by a 16-year-old living in the north-eastern part of the Attica region.
On 21 November, officers from the cyber crime unit searched the teenager’s home and confiscated two computer hard disks. They will be analysed by the crime lab.
The investigators found that the teenager had created a false female account in Facebook, which he later deleted.
The case will be filed with the relevant prosecutor's office.
