The jubilee edition of one of the most important races in the sea started on 19 July from the pier of Koundouriotou to Athens. It will last for 10 days and the sailors will compete with waves both during the day and at night.
The race is held at this time of the year because of the ideal conditions for sailing - Aegean winds blow at a speed of 20-30 knots.
49 yachts will take part in this year's rally. Four of the crews are from Germany, Denmark, Russia and Italy. Their first stop will be the port of Finikas on the island of Syros and after that on the islands of Patmos and Koufonisi. The final will take place on 29 July at the port of Sounion.
Besides the pleasure of fighting with the sea and wind, each year participants attend various Greek islands that enchant with their beauty.
