The Greek police are intensely preparing for the commemoration of Alexis Grigoropoulos’ murder on 6 December, especially after the manifesto of his friend Nikos Romanos from prison in which he threatened of a 'black December' for the police.
A publication in the Greek newspaper Eleftheros Tipos reports that 6,000 policemen will be deployed in the centre of Athens. There are also measures to tackle the clashes with anarchists from the roofs of buildings in the neighbourhood of Exarcheia.
It is expected that the police will apply the tactics of isolating the anarchists within it, which was defined as successful during the commemoration of the student rebellion at the Athens Polytechnic on 17 November.
During last year's commemorations, the police had lost control of the clashes with anarchists and this year their aim is to prevent them.
