Anarchists broke into the courtyard of Greek parliament, chanted slogans and hung a banner reading, "Solidarity with the prisoners who are on hunger strike! Immediately fulfil their demands."
The police quickly intervened and dispersed the anarchists, detaining 20 people who are currently in the building of the general directorate of the Greek police. All entrances to parliament were preventively closed.
We recall that one of SYRIZA’s campaign promises that the government of Alexis Tsipras immediately implemented was to lift the iron fences arranged around the parliament building and the monument of the Unknown Soldier in Syntagma Square.
Meanwhile, the cases of occupations of public buildings by anarchists are increasing, taking on the form of an epidemic. After the occupation of Athens University and the municipality building in the Athens district of Nea Smirni, today anarchists broke into the administrative building of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
Anarchists broke into the regional section of SYRIZA in Patras and hung banners with slogans against the prisons with a high degree of security and with demands for the release of prisoners. Anarchists on Crete occupied the political office of SYRIZA MP Yannis Micheloianakis, insisting on the release of terrorist of "17 November" Savvas Xiros.
