The leader of the Radical Left SYRIZA Alexis Tsipras continues to meet with representatives of big capital in Greece, writes iefimerida.gr. According to the publication, the last meeting took place about 10 days ago in the members-only club restaurant Salon de Bricolage in the luxury central district of Kolonaki.
This is where the potential Greek Prime Minister met the former director of the organisational committee of the Athens Olympic Games, Gianna Angelopoulos, and Marianna Latsis, heiress of one of the legendary Greek ship owners. They were accompanied by the two ladies’ sons, Panagiotis Angelopoulos and Paris Kasidokostas, also members of the high-end club frequented by the Greek jet set.
The publication in iefimerida.gr claims that club members, who happened to be there at the time of the special guests’ arrival, noticed a friendly atmosphere between SYRIZA’s leader and the rest. They behaved rather informally, and several times burst into laughter after a joke or a comment.
The closest relationship is between Tsipras and Gianna Angelopoulos’ son Panagiotis. Iefimerida.gr maintains that the scion has long embraced the positions of the radical left, takes part in SYRIZA events and attends Tsipras’ speeches. Way back, in 2010, he expressed his indignation at the Greek crisis and the memorandum for financial aid.
It is worth noting that the piece in iefimerida.gr appeared two weeks after the official meeting between Tsipras and Gianna Angelopoulos in the former's Parliament office. It took place within the framework of preparations for the conference of Bill Clinton's Global Initiative foundation, which will be held in Athens in June 2015.

Salon de Bricolage is one of a kind in Athens. Located on Alopekis Street, it opened its doors to a highly exclusive custom four years ago, but there is no signboard or anything else to mark its existence. Each one of its salons has the size of an apartment room.
The bar is backed by a curtain leading to a room, which looks like a kitchen and features a long table. Members can make food there and tuck into it with friends. The second floor has a room with a fireplace, a library, a table for card games and a small restaurant facility.
Just several hours after the iefimerida.gr publication, Nikos Pappas, Director of SYRIZA’s Political Bureau, called the site’s editors to repudiate the report. Then he came up with this statement: "iefimerida’s central report describing a meeting between SYRIZA’s leader, Mrs Latsis and Mrs Angelopoulos, is completely bogus and should be retracted. It is yet another false publication of this website concerning SYRIZA. Iefimerida has recently been ‘revealing’ various meetings and in-house fights with the same alacrity, but with no regard for any professional ethics."
The news of the meeting was denied by Gianna Angelopoulos’ associates as well, as has been reported by a number of Greek media. This is what one of the associates wrote: "This lunch never took place. Mrs Angelopoulos has never visited this restaurant."
There has been no reaction on behalf of Marianna Latsis.
The report is still present on iefimerida.gr.
