The Greek police apprehended another three Bulgarians for trafficking in illegal migrants. The case is about three men aged 48, 40 and 38 who were captured in Evros in two separate attempts to transport a total of 67 illegal migrants. According to the announcement of the police station in eastern Macedonia and Thrace, 55 migrants were Syrian and 12 Iraqi citizens.
The border police in Soufli apprehended one of the traffickers near Kornofolia. village. The 38-year-old Bulgarian was driving a mini-bus with a Bulgarian registration plate, transporting 48 illegal migrants to the interior of Greece.
Policemen of the local police station detained the other two Bulgarians near Kyprinos village while they were transporting 19 illegal migrants in a mini-bus with a Bulgarian registration plate.
Upon apprehending them, the Greek authorities seized the two mini-buses and four mobile phones.
The apprehended Bulgarians testified before the competent prosecutor's office whereas the police stations in Soufli and Kyprinos carried out the preliminary investigation of both cases.
