The anti-terrorist Greek forces held a large scale campaign in Athens and Thessaloniki days before the trial against the arrested for participation in the terrorist organization Conspiracy of Fire Nuclei.
Four people were captured and arrested subsequently after their data identification by the police. The four arrested were charged with involvement in the arson of the national electric company station in Thessaloniki on October 13, 2010. A 19-year-old youth was arrested for the same reason some time ago and arrest warrants for the other four accomplices were issued a day after the arson.
At the sight of the men from the anti-terrorist forces during the campaign in the Athens district of Vironas residents called the police because they got scared of the masks covering their faces. The police officers who arrived were aware of the action and withdrew.
Anti-terrorists searched two houses in the metropolitan districts of Vironas and Tavros. The following findings were delivered to police labs: one 9mm pistol, 10 cartridges, 3 laptops, 5 flash memories, 2 external computer drives, insulating tapes, small flashlights, hand-written notes, 4 mobile phones and other tools.
Hours earlier police had seized a member of the central council of the youth organization of the left political coalition Sinaspizmos. The young man was captured because anti-terrorists found with him an identity card declared lost in 2004. He was released early Thursday.
Anti-terrorists continue the investigations to determine whether the four arrested are connected with the activity of the particular group.
Police readiness is raised to red because of the approaching date - January17 - when the case against those arrested for involvement in the terrorist organization Conspiracy of Fire Nuclei will be heard. The group has taken responsibility for the bombing in front of the Administrative Court on December 30, 2010 already in the first days of 2011. Its manifesto on the case was published by the Indymedia website known for its relations with these circles. The police are seriously concerned about the safety of the judges who will be in the hall on Monday as the group made direct threats to them. The other main concern of the police is the fact that the members of the group will try to attack again on Monday.
In particular, the text of the manifesto mentions: "in view of the civil court martial that will take place on January 17 for the revolutionary organization Conspiracy of Fire Niclei we will be rigorous and ruthless in our choice and action." The authors of the text write addressing the judges: "we promise in public that for each year of imprisonment which our brothers will hear we will put on kilograms of explosives in the yards of your houses, in your cars and offices, not excluding the possibility of meeting you in person, following the sudden approach rule."
The case against the 13 arrested for involvement in the terrorist organization Conspiracy of Fire Nuclei will start on Monday. It will be held in the especially built and strictly guarded courtroom in the women's wing of the prison in the Athens suburb of Korydallos where the trial of the members of the November 17 group was held.
