The unemployed cannot pay for their treatment and put their lives in danger, president of the Medical Association of Athens George Patoulis told GRReporter and described the situation as a humanitarian crisis.
The latest data shows the unemployment rate in the country has reached 23.1 per cent. It is highest among young people aged up to 24 years, more than one out of two persons is unemployed.
