Readers of the Bulgarian and English pages of our site still believe in the election promises of Tsipras according to which he will hold a firm and uncompromising policy towards the lenders. Our Greek readers are much more realistic.

After the meeting in Paris, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande expressed hope that the negotiations would develop positively. Angela Merkel stressed, "I am not aware of a scenario that involves Greece’s exit from the euro zone."

The most critical meeting of the Eurogroup on Greece since the start of the crisis is scheduled for 4:00 pm today in Brussels. The 19 finance ministers of the euro zone member states will discuss at it the application of Athens for an extension of the bailout.

There are people who simply cannot work with others. They are complete individualists. Others cannot do anything if they do not collaborate with someone else or if they are not part of a team. It would be frivolous and superficial to say that one type of people is better than the other is.

Deputy Prime Minister Yannis Dragasakis believes that the Greek proposal has all the necessary components to be considered by the partners, Governor of the Bank of Greece Yannis Stournaras assures that deposits are guaranteed.

The Greek request was received positively by the European Commission and negatively by Germany, which saw in it an attempt to "financing without Athens complying with the requirements of the programme. The letter does not meet the criteria set by the Eurogroup on Monday."

The talks between Panagiotis Lafazanis and the representatives of the state company Socar in Baku took place in the shadow of the deal for the sale of the Greek gas company DESFA that the European Competition Commission has blocked.
