Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has decided to put the government’s economic policy, the negotiation of public debt and the supervision of the bank system under the full control of Deputy Prime Minister Yannis Dragasakis.

Eurobank has new management

Eurobank’s management board has accepted the resignations of its former chairman Panagiotis Thomopoulos and CEO Christos Megalou. They were replaced by Nikos Karamouzis and Fokion Karavias respectively. The bank’s  board of directors saw no other changes.

In a letter to the board, Mr. Megalou explained his resignation with his decision to accept the post of adviser to Fairfax Financial in Toronto, Canada.
