Atheists of SYRIZA relieve the Church from capital controls

By decision of Minister of Finance Efklidis Tsakalotos the government of SYRIZA and Independent Greeks has relieved the Church from the constraints of capital controls.

The decision states that bishoprics will be entitled to withdraw the sum of 10,000 euro per month from one bank and one bank account. They will receive the amount upon submitting an affidavit signed by the legal representative of the relevant bishopric in which he will state that no money has been withdrawn from another account in the same, or another, bank within the specific month. The Holy Archbishopric of Athens will be entitled to withdraw 20,000 euro per month under the same procedure.

It is worth noting that at a time when capital controls apply to all freelancers, companies and their employees, the church has been relieved from the heavy measure.

As expected, the government's decision has provoked a lot of public reactions, many of which are ironic to the tolerance on the part of SYRIZA’s sworn atheists to the Greek clergy. They obviously have irritated the Greek Church that has issued an official communication in which it describes as irresponsible the publications, according to which "the Church has been once again relieved from obligations that apply to citizens."
