Shortly before leaving for Brussels, the Greek Prime Minister accused Greece’s creditors of maintaining a "strange position", thus commenting on the refusal of creditors to accept Athens’ proposals for budgetary measures. In a conversation with his close associates he stated that they "either do not want an agreement or they are serving interests in Greece."
"So far, there has never been a refusal to accept the proposed measures with an identical budget result, neither in Ireland nor in Portugal. Nowhere! This strange position can only mean two things. Either they do not want an agreement or they are serving specific interests in Greece," was the exact statement of the Greek Prime Minister, according to the government sources.
Meanwhile, several hours before the start of today's meeting of the euro zone finance ministers, the Greek correspondents in Brussels are reporting low expectations for reaching a final agreement.
