The football club Olympiakos is starting the season of transfers with ambitions, considering Juande Ramos, who will most likely take over the post of a coach of the players from Piraeus. The cost of his transfer amounts to 2 million euro and the red-and-white team will probably pay it after the increase of its authorized capital. The procedure is to be completed by 13 June and 10 million euro will be poured into the funds of the club.
The names of the new additions to Olympiakos have to become clear tomorrow and the negotiations with Bulgarian Dimitar Berbatov and Frenchman Anthony Mounier to finish with a positive or negative decision. The Greek media report that Mounier is closer to a contract with the red-and-white team than Berbatov.
Berbatov’s advantage is his experience with Juande Ramos in the English team Tottenham and the information in the Bulgarian media that the attacker is positive about the proposal of the club from Piraeus. It is no secret that Olympiakos is ready to meet Berbatov’s financial requirements for one year, giving him a chance to play again in the Champions League.
The online edition sport-fm.gr claims that the Bulgarian is on top of the transfer list of the Greek champions. Another edition, gazetta.gr, however recalls that Berbatov is a top player with extensive experience but he is already 34 years old and it is uncertain whether the owners of Olympiakos will want him to wear the red-and-white shirt with number 9.
