Attacker Dimitar Berbatov tops the transfer list of Olympiakos and it is therefore expected  that another meeting of his manager with the management of the football club will take place today. The representative of the Bulgarian player is negotiating over a deal for almost 2 million euro per year, the Greek media report. The club from Piraeus however is ready to pay the amount because it believes that 34-year-old Berbatov will raise the level of the team and be very useful due to his experience of participating in the matches of the Champions League.

Olympiakos shareholders unanimously decided at yesterday's general meeting to increase the authorized capital of the company by 10 million euro. President of the football club Vangelis Marinakis will entirely cover the amount whereas the team has received another 4 million euro to add to its funds.

The club management is adamant that it will make no transfers of players before electing the new coach of the team. Late last night, the Spanish media indicated former coach of Elche Fran Escribano as a possible candidate for the post.

In Olympiakos itself, the fans of Juande Ramos with whom Dimitar Berbatov worked in Tottenham are many. It is claimed, however, that the financial requirements of Ramos for 5 million euro over two years and the fact that Olympiakos prefers a young and ambitious coach can take him away from the post.

According to the sports online edition sportday.gr, Dimitar Berbatov would like to return to the UK but currently he has no proposals from any of the teams in the Premier League. "But he is showing a great interest in the" red-and-white" team. He knows that life in Greece is very nice, and he will play again in the Champions League. He will also enter into a contract for a large sum."

Expect information on whether the two sides have come to agreement by the end of the day.
