According to readers of Status magazine, which gave out its "Men of 2009" awards at a glamorous ceremony, the Best singer for last year is Sakis Rouvas. Sakis gathered the most votes and radiant with joy, came on stage to receive his award, which was given to him by the commission members of the TV reality show X-Factor. In the past year, Sakis participated as a representative of Greece for the Eurovision Song Contest, played the role of a serial killer in the movie "Duress" and together with his wife Katia Zouganeli became a father of a boy.

French football player Djibril Cisse, who plays for the Athens club Panathinaikos, took the award for most stylish man of the year. "I am very keen on fashion and for me it is a great joy that I get recognition from the audience about it in the form of this award," said Cisse after receiving the statuette in the shape of a flying comet. Djibril Cisse is distinguished by its original style - he changed his image and his hair with the same ease with which he scores goals during his games.

The award, which brought everyone in the audience to tears, was presented to the Rescue team, which years ago after the earthquake in Athens and now in Haiti, has saved the lives of dozens of people by dragging them from under collapsed buildings.

The “Nightmare in the kitchen" Ektoras Bodrini took the award for "TV personality". With his show he grasped the attention of viewers with his sharp tone and absolute uncompromised, with which he advises restaurant owners on how to change their menus and the image of their restaurants to attract clientele.

The coach of the national football team Otto Rahangel won an award for Man of the Year and PAO basketball player Nick Kalatis was awarded for debutant for the year. Athlete of 2009 became the rally racer Lambros Atanasopoulos.

The readers of Status chose for Manager of the Year Dimitris Pandermalis and George Lagios took the prize for Scientist of 2009 because he discovered how a car can travel 50 km on a glass of water and not on gas. For this discovery and his contribution to science for practical applications of hydrogen, he was personally greeted by Bill Gates.
