A random shot from the gun of Golden Dawn’s deputy Antonis Gregos caused panic at "Eleftherios Venizelos" airport in Athens on Thursday afternoon.

According to To Vima, just before boarding the plane of Aegean Airlines which flies to Thessaloniki, Gregos submitted his legally acquired weapon to an employee of the airport security for them to safeguard it. While the cartridge was pulled, the weapon fired. The bullet stuck in the floor without any information about ricochets. There is no information regarding the people injured during the incident. The deputy denies having shot and according to initial testimonies, the pistol shot while it was in the hands of the security guard.

"Not a day goes by without the deputies challenging with their extreme behaviour and with their common position", Democratic Left comments on the incident cited by Naftemporiki. The incident with the blind shot occurs just a few days after the peak of the scandal of carrying weapons in the parliament building. Political analysts comment that less than 50 deputies in the National Assembly today have legal permits for weapons, but only some of Golden Dawn’s deputies are armed every day.
