A bloody robbery was carried out in Randy on Thursday night.

Two men tried to rob a butcher’s shop at 102 Kifisou Street in Aghiou Pavlou. The perpetrators opened fire on the DIAS motorized police officers, as a result of which one of the thieves died. The other was arrested.

Both perpetrators are young, of Greek origin.

Chronicle of the robbery

Shortly after 08:00 pm on Thursday two young men broke into the butcher’s shop at 102 Kifisou Street. However, they were spotted by the motorized police officers who patrolled the area and were immediately blocked.

The police officers asked them to surrender but the thieves turned their weapons against the law enforcement officials. The shooting that followed killed one of the perpetrators and the other was arrested and taken to the investigating authorities.

This was the second time that the shop became the victim of robbery within a week. The first time the thieves stole 500 euro, and yesterday managed to take 600 euro.
