The Greek police has arrested 39-year-old British citizen Simon Dutton, facing an international arrest warrant. He is considered one of the ten most wanted criminals in Britain, charged with drug trafficking from Spain to Manchester and northern England.

On Sunday evening, police asked to see the documents of Simon Dutton who was staying in a luxury hotel in Thessaloniki. He showed them a fake Bulgarian passport in the name of Ivan Dimitrov. The search found other false documents and 6 mobile phones on Dutton. The police official release says that the drug lord has used a total of 98 different fake names whereby he managed to hide in Bulgaria, Portugal and Spain.

In 2009, Simon Dutton gave the slip to the British police while it detained 17 people who had been involved with the same drug channel as Dutton. Back then, the authorities seized cocaine worth 1.6 million pounds. "Those who believe they can escape justice and act with impunity are making a mistake," was the comment of a senior officer at the department for combating organised crime in the UK on the occasion of the arrest.
