The Greek authorities have arrested the 58-year-old Bulgarian T.D. and the 67-year-old Greek A.G. on charges of deliberately setting on fire the forest near the Kareas neighborhood. Due to the strong wind, the firestorm very quickly reached residential areas; there were no victims by sheer luck. The two men were arrested by the arson fighting office and today they will be brought before a prosecutor in Athens.

Police has arrested another man, a beekeeper, who, while tackling a bee hive, inadvertently caused fire in a woodland near Egio.
