"This is the first time I have encountered such a sinister case of child pornography," said Manolis Sfakianakis, head of the Greek anti-electronic crimes services. The reason is a Bulgarian paediatrician who was detained just days ago and who had an office in the northern Greek city of Ioannina. The anti-electronic crimes services had been monitoring the behaviour of the 47-year-old man both in real and virtual life for six months before proceeding to his arrest. The police were stunned by the depraved habits of the paediatrician and were forced to arrest him in his office in front of patients.

The man made videos of examinations of children and then released them on specialized websites for child pornography. He had a very shocking archive on his personal computer, including an animal raping a 6-month-old baby. The police are currently investigating whether the Bulgarian had tried to seduce his little patients while he was examining them. Manolis Sfakianakis argues that this is the first time a paediatrician has been arrested for child pornography in Greece.

After the interrogation at the district magistrate of Ioannina, the paediatrician was released on 20,000 euro bail.
