Athina Tsingari’s new film entitled THE CAPSULE is a Greek Gothic mystery inspired by the work of the young Polish artist Aleksandra Waliszewska.
Here is the story: Seven young women. A mansion perched on a Cycladic rock. A series of lessons on discipline, desire, discovery, and disappearance. A melancholy, inescapable cycle on the brink of womanhood — infinitely.
Along with the film, Athina Tsingari presented an art installation of the same name.
It repurposes the digital 3D technology to create a kaleidoscopic illusion apparatus, a modern adaptation of the "Kinetoscope" in the first years of cinema. It invites the unsuspecting public to join an adventure of visual perception, depending on their distance from the screen and their respective heights. Viewers can watch the whole story unfolding on the screen or experience the images as fleeting, mysterious dreams.
