The court in Larissa has postponed to next Tuesday the consideration of the prosecutor's request to remove little Maria from the custody of the Roma couple in whose house she had been found.
Konstantinos Katsavos, the defender of the "father", Christos Sali, states for GRReporter that the defence has requested the postponement of the case. "We have requested a postponement because we need a little time to prepare some documents related to the case," he said.
According to publications in the Greek media, the defenders have requested the postponement of the case in order for the request of Maria’s "mother" to be transferred from the remand centre in Korydallos to that in Larissa to be considered. The text states that they insist on her attending the trial and on examining new (unspecified) data.
After the initial refusal of the court to release Maria's alleged parents from custody, their defenders have filed a second request which will probably not be considered before the end of January.
