On Sunday, an extraordinary meeting was held at the Ministry of Public Order and Protection of Citizens about preparing a special plan to prevent a terrorist attack on the occasion of September 18, the day which will mark one year since the murder of singer Pavlos Fyssas.
Officers from the Hellenic police claim that targets of terrorists are businessmen, politicians and policemen. Police patrols in the area of central Athens have already been increased, as it is believed that this is where the most potential targets are concentrated.
The three dates which scare Greek police
After September 18, the anniversary of the murder of Pavlos Fyssas by the members of the neo-Nazi party Golden Dawn, George Roupakias, there follow October 14, the date on which the judgment was announced for the home treatment of terrorist Savas Ksiros and December 6, the date on which the 15-year-old student Alexandros Grigoropoulos was killed.
On Thursday, September 18, at 18.00, various anti-fascist organizations, movements and communities have organized a demonstration in the place where Pavlos Fyssas was killed a year ago - on Panagi Tsaldari street in Keratsini, from where a procession will begin along the surrounding streets.
As specified in the announcement of the initiative committee entitled “Not to Forget”, on the same day Panagi Tsaldari street will be renamed Pavlos Fyssas street.
On Friday, September 19, at 17.00, the friends of Pavlos Fyssas and the Not to Forget initiative committee have organized a concert on Syntagma square, featuring dozens of performers.
On Sunday, at 18.00, an anti-fascist demonstration has been convened in Selepitsari park (Amfiali). A concert will follow featuring Εncardia, Fotini Velesiotou and Natasha Bofiliou, at the 3rd High School next to the park.
