The prosecutor of the Supreme Court has ordered a preliminary investigation in connection with a publication of the association of special forces reservists of the Greek army in which they are calling for the government's resignation.

The prosecutor who is handling the case will have to establish the author of the text and to decide whether it is a threat to Greece’s parliamentary polity. His other main task is to find out whether the reservists have taken secret actions to fulfil the things described therein.

The issue was discussed late last night at a meeting between the leadership of the Ministry of Justice and a senior representative of the Ministry of Public Order and Citizen Protection.

The publication posted on the Greek web reads:

"The special forces reservists and the Greek people refer to Article 120 of the Constitution and insist on:

1. The immediate resignation of the government, which is unable to provide the people with health, education, justice, security as stipulated in the Constitution (Article 22).
2. Forming a government of national need under the leadership of the chairman of the Supreme Court and with the participation of eminent individuals outside the political arena and of advisers from the Academy of Athens.
3. Suspending the enforcement of the legislation resulting from the Memorandum and announcing elections within two months. The politicians who were members of the governments responsible for the current economic state of the country will be banned from participating in them.
 4. Forming a commission of senior magistrates to investigate and explain who and what had brought the country to the disastrous signing of the Memorandum. Establishing a Constitutional Court which will have the actual power to implement its decisions.
5. The immediate suspension of the dismissals in the public sector.
6. Suspending the additional taxation of family income of up to 25,000 euro.
7. Suspending the auctions and obligations to the banks until registered auditors complete the verification of their functions.
8. Suspending the payment of the unacceptable part of the state debt.
9. Banning the sale of state property and continuing the functions of military enterprises.
10. An immediate confiscation of the property of German citizens (individual persons, companies, state) until the full payment of the reparations for the damages caused during World War II and of the occupation loan to Greece.
11. Cancelling the law on ministerial responsibility and parliamentary immunity. All "Greeks are equal before the law" (Article 4) without exception.
12. Checking the assets of all who held government positions related to Greece’s economy and finance and initiating criminal persecution for profiteering and returning the property to the state.
13. Checking the functions and the legality of the licences of television stations which are to immediately repay their obligations to the state.
14. Protecting the regions of Aegean Macedonia, Epirus, Thrace and Cyprus from enemy attacks and breaking up the various groups operating inside the country.
15. Removing the illegal immigrants by sending them to other European countries and to the countries through which the immigration flows are passing. Banning the transfer of amounts exceeding 20% of their taxable income abroad.

- We are calling the President of the Republic to resign to facilitate the events that are supported by the Greek people.

- The institution, guaranteeing the points described above, is the military forces of the country which are a powerful and selfless defender in the case of every threat.

- The security forces are responsible for ensuring the implementation of the above as well as for the safe transition to genuine constitutional legitimacy."

It is worth noting that the association of special forces reservists will organize a meeting in Syntagma Square on 28 September, which aims to "restore national sovereignty". The independent movement of officers has announced its involvement in the meeting as well.
