Easter has passed - how to cleanse our body?

Besides the pleasant memories the Easter holidays have left us are also some "gifts", located mainly in the abdomen and hips, which clearly stand out on the screen of our electronic scales. However, we can get rid of them and cleanse our body with a proper diet.

I bet that there are many people who ate lamb in these days even for breakfast. But while we enjoyed the tasty food that filled our tables, our body was working overtime to handle all the toxins that we have bombarded it with.

Especially those people who had followed the strict Easter fast, and then for three days they have mostly eaten meat and all sorts of fat, they will certainly have stomach and digestive problems caused by the disturbance in the balance and flow of toxins in the body.

And because at this stage the organism is having difficulties discarding the huge amount of toxins, it would be better if you put the fork down for a while, and instead of getting ready to spike another piece of lamb, start a diet that will renovate you from the inside and out.

Remember that a good detox will not only get rid of toxins and save you from many diseases, but at the same time the cells will also recover at a gentle pace, your metabolism will be balanced, your stomach will calm down again and the scales will be a bit more polite to you.

Start with fresh juices

And when I say juices, I do not mean the ready produced ones that are available on the market, but fresh juices. Although they do not retain the fibres of the whole fruits and are richer in sugar and calories than fruits, fresh juices are still rich in vitamins and antioxidants.

Especially now antioxidants are very much needed to fight free radicals, which are “having a party” after the excessive eating during the holidays.

"Flush" with water

Perhaps one of the most necessary means of detoxification – water, is needed both for hydration of the body and to cleanse it of toxins for better functioning of organs. In addition to helping overcome the problems with the stomach, water helps us to more easily feel satiated without calories. An even better solution for the detox is cold water with a slice of lemon and a few drops of its juice.

This drink, especially if you drink it each morning, assists the release of toxins, activates the function of the gallbladder and liver, and rejuvenates us. Be careful with lemon if you have low blood pressure, because as you probably know lemon has the ability to lower blood pressure.

Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables

With their high water content most fruits and vegetables are the alpha and omega of detoxification. Rich in fibre, they will soothe your digestive system, which is in ... a state of emergency after the Easter feasts and the vitamins and antioxidants contained in them are important weapons in combating toxins.

So, eat more salads and try to eat fruit for dessert, avoiding sweets. Among other things, fruit and vegetables are very low in calories, which helps to get rid of excess weight accumulated in the abdomen.

Try a little garlic juice ...

If you are a fan of alternative medicine, the following recipe will appeal to you a lot. According to the specialist Dr. Harris Aseros, working in the field of alternative medicine, there are ways that can help us clean our body from the toxins and from the dead cells, and garlic juice is one of them.

It may also help in removing excess cholesterol from the body, thus reducing the risk of stroke and heart attack. Allicin, beta carotene, iron, calcium and vitamin C, contained in garlic are the ingredients necessary in this period, and if you do not have garlic juice (which is prepared with a little garlic, grapefruit and a little honey), just add it to your salad. Be careful not to over do it especially if you have low blood pressure, as garlic can lower it further.

Add a little vinegar to your food

One tablespoon of vinegar in your meal or in your salad can soothe a significant increase in blood sugar caused by eating food which is rich in carbohydrates. This helps us to not get hungry very quickly as the rapid increase in blood sugar later causes also a rapid decline and eventually this leads to acute hunger after a short interval of time.

Among other things, due to the high content of acetic acid, vinegar also helps weight loss, and the balsamic vinegar is especially rich in antioxidants.

Add more spices to your food

In case you've overdone the Easter table and you ate as if for the last time, maybe spices will become the solution for your problem. According to a small-scale study from 2011 which was published in the Journal of Nutrition, participants who consumed 2 tablespoons of spice in their meals (oregano, rosemary, cinnamon, pepper, turmeric, etc.) have registered lower levels of triglycerides and insulin and higher levels of antioxidants after eating a high - calorie meal high in fat, compared with those who did not have spices in their food.
