On Sunday, President of PASOK Evangelos Venizelos was admitted to Thessaloniki St. Luke's Hospital. According to official information from the headquarters of the Socialist party, Venizelos must undergo pre-arranged prophylactic cardiac and gastroenterological examinations. The admission to the clinic, however, became leading news in all Greek media, since the explanation "prophylaxis" is not convincing. Why? Because the socialist leader had planned a major speech in Crete's capital city - Heraklion, which was postponed until 11 February.
