A bloody attack was carried out today in Building 10 of the courthouse, which houses the offices of the investigators.
According to initial data, shortly before 11:00 am, a foreign citizen of Iranian origin stabbed the secretary of an investigator in the back, inflicting two wounds on her.
The perpetrator who seems to have been accused of drug possession wounded the court clerk in the back and elbow, the reasons for his act being unknown at present.
The police intervened as soon as they heard the cries of the secretary and apprehended at the scene the foreign citizen, who is currently at the general directorate of the police in Attica where he will be questioned.
The injured woman has been taken to Evangelismos hospital and differing information has been given as to her condition.
A two-hour break in hearings and a protest
After the bloody attack the federation of judicial officers in Greece has announced a two-hour break in the hearings and a protest rally in the courtyard of the courthouse at 1:00 pm.
"On the occasion of the attack, we are again raising before the competent authorities the issue of the safety and security of the judicial officers in the country", reads the statement of the federation.
