His name is synonymous with revolution. He toured around the world, announcing a revolution, fought for the revolution and finally "fell" like a hero because he never furled the flags of the revolution. No, he is not Che Guevara but Yanis Varoufakis, whom the institutions have eventually toppled from the post of Minister of Finance. His image is already being sold on a T-shirt on eBay, for the modest sum of £7.26 (it is almost a gift but the relevant amount in euro is not indicated, perhaps because eBay detects those who are entering the site from Greece).
The print on the chic summer T-shirt (that would have suited a Varoufakis with his inimitable style) consists only of the word YANIS written in a beautiful font resembling ancient Greek and the smiling face of the former finance minister against the background of the star of SYRIZA that is like a halo of a saint.
The T-shirt is available only in white, maybe symbolizing the purity of the revolutionary ideas and feelings, and the red star is reminiscent of the revolution itself.
Payment can be made with all types of credit cards (unless you are Greek, in which case you may have problems). Hurry or this collectible item will sell out!
If anyone is interested, an older batch of T-shirts that depicts SYRIZA and the "New Drachma Merkel" is available too for just 14.04 euro (or 243.324 "Drachmas Merkel" if not mistaken).
