Former Minister of Interior and George Papandreou’s very close collaborator Yiannis Ragousis lets out his villa on Paros island for 2,000 euro a day, as reported by the Greek media.
The publications indicate that the minimum length of stay is 7 days and rich foreign tourists have already booked the villa from the beginning of June to 19 July. "I have been unemployed for two years now and we have been able to make our living letting out several rooms that belong to my wife. It is not easy to tell your children to leave their rooms in the villa, in which foreign tourists will spend their summer vacation, until September when they will start school again," Ragousis told Proto Thema newspaper.
"I built the villa with my labour and now I live on rents," are the words of the former mayor of the tourist island who also says that he is not looking for a job in different places where they would accept him because he does not want to lose his financial independence.
The house, romantically named Villa Fullmoon, is located on a hilltop in Naoussa town, it has an area of 32 acres and its balcony overlooks the beaches of Paros. The advertisement posted on a website states that it has an indoor pool, garden, barbecue and wood oven.
The advertisement continues with the following description: "Featuring white, Cycladic architecture and fine marble floors, the villa includes air-conditioning and free WiFi. The seating area has a flat screen TV and sofas. The kitchen is equipped with a microwave and oven. The bathrooms come with a shower.
The villa of the former minister is located 400 metres away from the picturesque village of Kostos. The beaches of Ysterni and Molos are 4 km and 5 km away. Villa Fullmoon is 7 km away from the centre of Naoussa and Paroikia with its port. The airport is 15 km away."
