If behind every successful man lies a great woman, then behind the Minister of civil protection Michalis Chrisochoidis are hiding at least four, counting only those who officially married him. In other words the 55-years-old Michalis Chrisochoidis just over a month ago swore eternal loyalty to the Mrs. Chrisochoidis number 4. The mysterious woman who captured the heart of the top minister is former Member of the European Parliament from the ranks of PASOK Mary Matsouka.

The ceremony took place in top-secret environment adequate for such high profile wedding as is the sacred connecting of a Minister of home affairs with a former MP. Very few Greek media announced the happy event and they did so later long after marriage. Mary Matsouka is 33 years old and this is her first marriage. The young wife will also become a mother soon and she is expected to give birth to the fourth child of Chrisochoidis.

The two newlyweds saw each other for the first time in September 2007 and according to people familiar with the situation this is love at first sight. At that time the Minister was in the process of divorce with his third wife – the specialist in public relations Angeliki Hondromatidou. Their love story on the other side began in 2004. At that time Ageliki was head of advertising agency "Leo Burnett" and she was handling PASOK’s election campaign. The flame there was quickly extinguished, but the result of marriage number three is the five-years old son of Chrisochoidis named Angelos.

In the history of Michalis Chrisochoidis, however, the most dramatically won woman appears to be Mrs. number 2 – the architect Kamelia Kavardina. The two of them met in the mid 80's when the young Michalis is a family man with two children and just a Mayor of Karditsa municipality in the Thessaly region. Kamelia on the other hand is a young architect, married to the Secretary general of the Greek Communist Party in the small provincial town. The Greek publication Vima describes their love for one another as "stormy". They passionately give into each other, but in the year 2000 in the public area came out various rumors that the amorous minister is again alone.

In the political career of Michalis Chrisochoidis fit two pretty big successes, which give him high public credibility. The first is that in 2004 when he was Minister of interior in the government of Costas Simitis the police breaks the terrorist organization "November 17". The big hit is just a few months before the Olympic Games in Athens, which provides a better image for Greece in the eyes of the world, as a safe and modern country with effective management and functions. The second success, which is associated with the name of the minister or the super-Maik as they call him in some websites is the arrest of a part of the heirs of "November 17" - "Revolutionary Fight".

And while the loves and separations of the famous minister appear to a great extent to be entertaining, the assault, in which his personal assistant George Vassilakis was killed is truly tragic. Days after the incident it became clear that the package-bomb was addressed to the Minister as a wedding gift. It is still being examined as the parcel did not pass through a detector or other checking device, through which the content of the package could have been determined.
