At 4 pm today, New Democracy's leader will visit the presidency to give Carlos Papoulias the mandate he has received to explore the opportunities for forming a government and will receive a new mandate to trigger the relevant procedures.

Antonis Samaras will inform the President about the programme agreement New Democracy, PASOK and Democratic Left have reached on forming a government of national salvation. Immediately afterwards, the leader of the "blue" will take oath as prime minister. Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece, who will perform an oath rite, has already arrived in the presidential palace.

At 7 pm, Antonis Samaras, Evangelos Venizelos and Fotis Kouvelis will meet with caretaker Minister of Finance George Zanias to make recommendations for tomorrow's meeting of Eurogroup.

"George Zanias will go to Brussels, where he will bring the message that Greece has a government," said PASOK leader Evangelos Venizelos a little earlier. He added that the composition of the cabinet will be announced by the end of today.

"The Democratic Left has decided to give the government a vote of confidence," said Democratic Left leader Fotis Kouvelis after his meeting with Antonis Samaras.
