"You Germans want us to suffocate. Ok ... You accuse us of having wasted money ... Nobody can deny the things that Greece has given Germany," said Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias at the informal meeting of EU foreign ministers in Riga, Latvia. His words immediately got splashed all over the German media.
As reported by Skai TV, the Greek foreign minister has warned that Europe will be flooded by refugees and jihadists if Greece collapses financially.
"There will be millions of immigrants and thousands of jihadists coming into Europe if Greece goes bankrupt. The Western Balkans are not stabilized, then we have the Ukraine, Syria, Iraq and North Africa. This is a blade hanging from above that could zap down," said Kotzias.
Commenting on the way that the situation in Greece is described by the media and politicians from other Eurozone countries, the minister pointed out:
"The way we are being treated amounts to political racism. For the sake of Europe's future it is necessary to find another way of treating Greece. This is a geostrategic necessity as well. Instead however, since its early days, we have seen attempts to gradually undermine the government of SYRIZA. What will come after it? Right-wing extremism and chaos."
