Greek president sworn in today

Karolos Papoulyas will be sworn in at lunch today for a second consecutive time as President of the Republic of Greece to the deputies in parliament and Archbishop Yeronimos. 

At 11:15AM, President Papoulyas arrived in the building of the Presidential residence, from where in a formal procession he will leave at 12:45PM to parliament to take an oath before the MPs and the archbishop. PM Georgios Papandreou and the chairman of parliament Filipos Petsalnikos will welcome Mr. Papoulyas when he arrives in front of the National Assembly. 

The ceremony will be followed also by the family of Mr. Papoulyas from the lodge for officials. The oath of the president will conclude with the signing of the protocol, after which the president will lay a wreath at the Monument of the Unknown Soldier, which is in front parliament. 

Mr. Papoulyas was elected for President of Greece for a second time on February 3 PASOK, New Democracy and Laos. Karolos Papoulyas has been a foreign minister in the governments of Andreas Papandreou.
