How Greeks abroad voted

A lot was written on how many Bulgarians abroad voted and how. Let us now see how many Greeks abroad voted and how.
    According to the Ministry of Interior, 10,095 of the 14,939 Greeks registered as permanent residents in the European Union voted in the elections for the European Parliament held on 25 May. They submitted 174 valid ballot papers and 56 white. By comparison, 35,000 Greeks living outside Greece but within the European Union had voted in the previous elections in 2009.
    The valid ballot papers arranged the parties in the following order: first with the highest number of votes was New Democracy, second SYRIZA, third the Communist Party of Greece, fourth PASOK that participated in the elections as Elia formation, followed by Stavros Theodorakis’ party and Golden Dawn.
    The number of the polling stations opened abroad for the elections was 51 in 22 countries, including Cyprus, Bulgaria, the United Kingdom, Germany.
