ICAP awards the 43 "True leaders" of the Greek economy

The recession may have dealt a serious blow to the Greek economy, but there are still 43 companies that stand out even now, with their results and activities showing the direction that the country should take. Today, we will present to you the companies which the business information and advisory services company ICAP awarded at a special ceremony. It was attended by key ministers and representatives of many business organizations such as the award-winning “True leaders” among a total of 20,500 companies in the country.

''Hellenic Cables'' – industrial cables for all needs

This is one of the fastest growing companies in the production of high-quality cables, the application of which covers all innovative solutions (wind turbines, wind farms, submarines, transmission of electric power and energy data). ''Hellenic Cables'', which is part of the Viohalko group owned by the Stasinopoulous family, is oriented towards the introduction of the latest technologies and develops business activities in Greece with a total of three manufacturing facilities - in Thebes, Livadia and Inofyta, producing a wide range of products. The company enjoys a major presence on international markets and exports its products to more than 50 countries worldwide under the brand CABLEL.

"Attikes Diadromes" - High level of service

The activity of "Attikes Diadromes" includes the 24/7 provision of the smooth operation of, and continuous maintenance on, the ring road of Athens - Attica Highway, combined with the provision of high quality services to consumers. With leading technology as an essential tool as well as highly qualified staff, the company deals with various problems that may occur on the highway on a daily basis, and according to studies, the level of service and road safety shows a great level of satisfaction. The company's sales in 2012 amounted to 53.2 million euro and the profit after taxation - to 6.98 million euro. The number of employees in the company is nearly 1,100.

For already 91 years, the company has been a leader on the biscuits market while at the same time maintaining its strong position in other industries in which it operates (pastries, cereal bars, etc.). The company is known for its innovative products, and in 2013 it expanded its operations on the market of packaged bread. Its four factories employ 1,200 people and the company exports its products to over 40 countries. It actively participates in the country's development, investing and strengthening the Greek economy and society. Last year’s revenues amounted to 121 million euro, while the profit before taxation – to 12.5 million euro.

Kleemann Hellas – a leader on the market of elevators for 30 years

''Armed'' with German know-how, today, the company Kleemann Hellas is one of the largest companies manufacturing and marketing complete elevator systems. After 30 years of activity, it has production plants in Greece, China and Serbia, as well as offices in 11 countries (such as Turkey, the United Kingdom, Romania, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Poland, etc.) and exports its products to 50 countries worldwide. Today, it employs more than 900 people in and outside Greece. In 2012, the company's turnover amounted to 92.3 million euro and the net income – to 1.4 million euro.

BIC VIOLEX JSC - an innovator in the field of razor blades

Based in Athens and owning five manufacturing plants, BIC VIOLEX JSC is the world hub for Bic razors, providing subsistence to a total of 1,200 people. Over the past four years, the company has invested more than 100 million euro in its three departments for research and development (R&D) and continuously opens new jobs. Its exports amount to more than 95% of its production, and at the same time the company transfers its experience and know-how in terms of methods of production to the rest of the manufacturing plants for razors of the French group Bic. Also, the company can be proud of its over 60 patents that have been implemented internationally in recent years alone. Several months ago, its president, Bruno Bich had a meeting with the Greek Prime Minister.
