Investigating the bloody attack

People compare the terrorist attack two days ago to a Middle Eastern fight. It is a miracle that the injured policemen are alive in the hospital after more than 100 Kalashnikov bullets were shot at them. 23 year old policewoman S. P. is the most severely injured but her life is out of danger. There were 11 policemen in Aghia Paraskevi police station during the attack and all of them were between the ages of 19 and 25. New Democracy leader candidate Dora Bakoyanni visited the injured policemen in the hospital today.

One of the policemen, who was in front of the police station during the attack said that the bullets started falling like rain and everyone fell on the ground hit. According to witnesses one of the terrorists started the shooting alone and when his charger ran out, his other accomplice started shooting. There were bullets everywhere – on the sidewalk, on the first floor of the police station and pretty much everywhere, which according to experts proves that both shooters do not have experience with machine guns. Based on primary expertise results the weapons used in this attack were not used in any other terrorist attacks in Greece.

As GRReporter reported yesterday, three motorcycles were found abandoned in front of the Halandri metro station. It became clear that the motorcycles were stolen from three different neighborhoods in Athens, during the past few months. One of the bikes was even stolen at the day of the shooting. Until now the police was unable to find the motorcycles or cars used in terrorist attacks, done by the newly came terrorist organizations.

It is believed that at least six people were involved in the police station attack last night. The policemen at the scene did not expect to be attacked and they could have not reacted. The only thing they could do was to fall on the ground, in order to try and avoid the bullets, which were coming from everywhere.

A person living in the building right next to the police station said for Ethnos newspaper that usually during this time he has dinner with his family in the kitchen. And the kitchen window is just few centimeters away from the walls of the police station. Fortunately his family was left unharmed. Another neighbor compared what he saw with scenes from a Middle East fight – something he has seen only on TV. The policewoman was hit in the chest and while sitting in a chair her colleagues were screaming for help. A doctor living nearby heard the shooting and the screams and stormed to the crime scene to help. He also made sure the ambulances were on their way.

As a whole after the biggest terrorist organization in Greece (November 17) was crashed, many other terrorist organizations appeared, whose attack are different than the ones of November 17. Right now terrorists are making “blind” hits – they do not aim for “symbol” individuals but they hit blindly, in order to leave as many victims and cause as much damage as they can. Minister of defense and civil protection Mihalis Hrisohoidis promised that the terrorists will be found and put in jail.
