Greek reporters put their microphones at the feet of Golden Dawn spokesman Ilias Kasidiaris and left, perplexing him in the middle of his statements.
In this way, the media representatives expressed their dissatisfaction with his refusal to condemn the actions of his party supporters who had attacked journalists, photographers and camera operators on Saturday night. The following dialogue took place after their action:
Ilias Kasidiaris: I condemn the actions of the police for having withdrawn their units, which were behind the cameras, in order for some people, I do not know who they were, to cause some commotion. Thankfully, deputies and members of Golden Dawn were on the spot and "saved" the situation.
Journalist: No, what do you mean by "I do not know"? They were your supporters.
Ilias Kasidiaris: I repeat again that the police provoked the whole situation. People unknown to me caused, let’s say, these riots. Actually, nothing happened. When 200 citizens are gathered, the situation cannot be under control. Dear, you know very well that if we were not there...
Journalist: If you do not condemn the actions of your supporters, we will have to...
Ilias Kasidiaris: I condemn every clash and every act of violence. I however condemn you too, because you do not speak the truth. I condemn you because you lie.
The attack on journalists had taken place late Saturday night in the grounds of the Court of Appeal in Athens. Sources told GRReporter how the supporters of Golden Dawn had become angry at the announcement of the decision of the judicial authorities that two other party members would be sent to Korydallos prison.
At first, several deputies had gathered in the grounds of the court building and supporters of Golden Dawn had joined them within a few minutes, starting to curse and threaten the journalists and some of them threw plastic water bottles at them.
"Journalists - scoundrels and informers", "I recognize each of you individually, openly threatening you", "Others are coming after us. You must know that you cannot save yourself", "Don’t you think about your children in terms of what you do?","Thieves" had been part of the verbal attacks on the media representatives.
The attack had lasted about 10-15 minutes and ended after the intervention of Golden Dawn members who had pushed their supporters back. Meanwhile, the journalists and camera operators had left the scene, passing through the back part of the building.
On Sunday, the supporters of Gold Dawn continued to mock journalists, but this time from a distance.
Among them was party member Konstantinos Barbarousis. By decision of the investigating judicial authorities, a remand measure was imposed also on deputy Efsthathios Boukouras too. The charges against him include leadership of, and participation in, a criminal group.

Boukouras was transported to prison in Nafplio whereas his party colleagues George Germenis and Panagiotis Iliopoulos had been already taken to Korydallos prison. Both operations were carried out under strict security measures.
It is worth noting that Boukouras’ line of defence is fundamentally different from that of the others, which was evident from the statements of his lawyer Alexis Kouias that his client is a Golden Dawn deputy and supporter but not a member thereof as he belongs to another political space.
