The only infringement on the Election Day is the lack of quorum in election commissions in some polling stations.

According to the Ministry of the Interior, at which information on the conduct of the voting process has been collected since early morning, the process is going smoothly. 35 of the 51 prefectures of the country have already confirmed that there were no problems.

When there is a problem with civil quota at electoral commissions, representatives of the court have the right to appoint a citizen who came to vote for a member of the Electoral Commission.

A rare election joke was made this morning in Serres. A known lawyer pretended to be a judicial representative. Although he did not have the necessary documents, he received the bag with ballots and began to perform the duties of a judicial representative in polling station 330 of the city. According to information, the real judicial representative was an employee in the office of the lawyer. The lawyer was brought to the police and charged with fraud after signals by participants in the elections.

According to information, the lawyer performed political activities in favour of a participant in the elections.

The Election Day in three polling stations in the Municipality of Kalavryta started with obstacles. In station 279 in Kertezi, as well as in section 283 in Kriogeri, the opening of stations was delayed because of a delay of court officials. In section 313 in Planitero the start of voting was delayed, because the judicial representative had forgotten the seal. Regarding the vote in the other polling stations in the three prefectures of Western Greece, Etoloakarnania, Achaia and Ilia, the process is proceeding without any problems.

Meanwhile, residents of Gavdos have decided not to vote for MEPs in order to protest against the indifference of European governments, as well as the Greek government, towards the disposal of chemicals from Syria in the Mediterranean Sea. The decision was taken at an open meeting on Thursday. The statement of the municipality reads: "We recognize the attempts by some MEPs and MPs who opposed the disposal of chemicals in the Mediterranean, but we are disappointed by the fact that the Greek MEPs who did not ignore the subject were fewer than the fingers of one hand". The islanders are against organizations which believe that the vote of their citizens gives them the right to decide on behalf of people and in favour of political and economic interests.
