Four weeks before the pre-term elections in Greece on October 4, five different sociological surveys show that the socialist party PASOK has the lead. Georgios Papandreou's party is leading with 5,7% to 6,7% and the people, who are undecided about which party to vote for, are 26,1%.
Kappa Research registered a 6,7% lead for the socialists, who are gathering 30,8% of the votes and the governing New Democracy is getting 24,1%. Of course, keeping in mind that 26,1% haven't decided who to vote for, this numbers can lean in either direction. The everlasting communist party in Greece KKE gathers 7,1%, 4,3% is the support for the far right LAOS and 3% for the radical left. 54,2% of the surveyed say that they want a one party government and 43% prefer a coalition government.
The majority of the surveyed - 64,7% approve the decision of PM Kostas Karamanlis to announce pre-term elections. 72,6% believe that tough decisions must be taken in order for the country's economy to improve. 32,6% believe that PASOK will be able to do that, 23% believe that New Democracy will deal better with the economic crisis and 27,6% do not believe in any Greek party.
A sociological research by Rass claims that PASOK has a lead of 5,6%. 6% is the lead according to a research by MRB agency and by Alco agency and according to Marc agency the lead for PASOK is 6,5%.
