Summer is coming and the children go on vacation, but the parents begin to wonder what entertainment to offer them and how their children to have funny and creative vacation, instead of sitting at home watching TV. Children’s camps, but also places around the city where children can have fun are getting more and better organized every year.
If you choose to send your child to a sea summer camp maybe you are wondering how to choose the right place. Here are some tips to follow to be sure that your little treasure would be safe. It is binding experienced people to take care of your children, not other children. Choose the camp according to your own demands and the needs of the child – there are sea or mountain camps, camps that emphasize on sports or creative activities, and don’t look for “luxury” – the child is going to camp though. Talk in advance with the owners and the staff, look at photos from previous years, check out the program for the day which they should necessarily have, see if additional activities are provided. Check the food, the menu and the conditions in which food is prepared. If your child has allergies or does not eat some food you have to inform the supervisors. As for swimming in the sea, check out the security measures - if there are life-guards and how many children have an adult to care for.
You can be sure that your child will spend wonderful time, because he or she will have the opportunity to play sports and have fun together with their peers. Your child will be in the open air and will make new friendships while the supervisors will take care to create team spirit and skills to work with the rest of the group and the child will feel a sense of independence and confidence.
And you try not to pass your concerns whether he or she will take care of him or herself. Make sure you go on Sundays to meet with him or her and don’t constantly call on the phone – this makes his or her adaptation to the new environment more difficult. If your child complains – talk to him or her to find out if there really is a problem or he or she is just complaing when you are around. Don’t exclaim “Oh, how thin you are” when you see your kid. You’d better see if he or she is happy and point it out – that you are happy to see him or her doing well and having good time. And when you are off, leave melodramatic outbursts.
