Three buildings housing the offices of the ruling coalition of the radical left SYRIZA were the target of attacks with makeshift bombs. The explosions occurred successively, starting at 1:36 am today and affected the party offices in the maritime suburb of Glyfada at 61 Genimata Street, in the northern suburb of Nea Ionia in the region of Agias Fotinis and in the central district of Kypseli on the corner of Lelas Kariani and Agias Zonis.
The explosions were of low power and the fire brigade units were able to immediately extinguish the flames.
The Ministry of Justice woke up this morning to a bomb threat too. An unknown man had called Mega TV and warned that there was a bomb in the building of the Ministry, which would soon explode. The authorities immediately proceeded to evacuate the Ministry employees and sappers checked the premises for the presence of an explosive.
The alert was withdrawn shortly before 8:00 am today after the special units were convinced that there was no bomb in the building.
