No, this is not the new advertising spot of fashion giant CHANEL. This is a moment from the working environment of Greek MPs. The stylish well-being that is emanating from this moment caught by the lens reassures us that the people's representatives will go through the reduction in their salaries.
By decision of president of parliament Nikos Voutsis (SYRIZA) as of 1 January 2016, the basic salary of MPs will be cut by 1% or 570 euro. Observers note that the measure has not only a financial but also a symbolic effect.
The parliamentary press office however specifies that the measure will still exclude those MPs who are involved in local government bodies.
