The Thessaloniki police have apprehended and arrested the murderer of 34-year-old Bulgarian woman Pavlina Angelova. During the investigation, the authorities had gathered compelling evidence that he was the 28-year-old Ukrainian, who was wanted yesterday. The charges on him include murder and violation of the law on weapons.
The woman was found murdered in the afternoon of 10 January 2014 by her husband and his friend, from Bulgaria too, in their lodgings in the centre of Thessaloniki. There were multiple stab wounds on her neck inflicted by a sharp object. According to the police, the case probably involves a murder with a sexual motive. It is expected that the Ukrainian will give evidence to an investigator.
As GRReporter informed yesterday, a few days after the act the murderer had told a 48-year-old Greek friend of his about it. The man is charged with concealment of a criminal.
