The mysterious death of Greek fashion designer Timis Parisis shook Mediterranean fashion circles just one day before Easter. According to initial information the cause of death was not an attack. On the other hand close friends of the designer commented that they have not known any serious illnesses from which he could have suffered. Though, the financial problems of Timis Parisis were not secret. Singer Levteris Pantazis told TLIFE, that he is shocked by the death of the designer, who had not yet made even 60.
"He was a wonderful person, who never bothered anyone. He was a professional. I know that in recent years he had financial problems and it was difficult for him," says the singer, adding that the economic crisis has cornered many professionals in the industry. Less than a week ago Parisis himself officially announced that he is moving his studio from the luxurious old Kolonaki neighborhood of the capital to a cheaper part of central Athens - Patisia. Star TV was there to cover the event and the designer admitted that the rent of 35,000 Euros per month is unbearable during period of crisis. Popular Greek singer Pantazis said that the changes through which Greece is going through are very violent and radical, and anxiety and stress for the following day cause different reactions in people.
"If you're not strong enough to accept the new reality, it inevitably hits the health and peace of a man," said Levteris Pantazis. Even his close associate Harris Sianidis stated that the economic crisis has affected Timis, but he has not shown any serious problems with it neither has he known to have serious health problems. The exact cause of death of the designer is currently being investigated, and evil tongues say that he owed a lot of money to different people, which may well be the decisive factor in his tragic death.
The last major collection of Timis Parisis was presented at the end of December of 2009. The designer had focused mainly on bridal and evening gowns with clean lines and was inspired by the elegance of the ancient female Greek toga. The ethereal models emphasize femininity that has always inspired the designer, and the soft, warm satin colors are just addition to his need for everything to look soft and light - as a soft white cloud on a sunny May day.
