The anti-terrorist police is trying to put together the jigsaw puzzle after the findings in the hideaway garage on Vyronas Street and the arrest of 31-year-old Antonis Stamboulos who seems to be an accomplice of Nikos Maziotis and a key figure in the attacks and actions of the organization.

From the moment in which it was proven that Maziotis was a tenant of the garage by the discovery of his DNA, antiterrorists found out that Stamboulos is an associate of the Revolutionary Struggle leader and have been looking for evidence of what exactly his role was.

The fact that after his arrest Stamboulos has not given any information on the evidence found in the garage leads police to suspect that he is an important figure in the organization. The fact that the notebook found on him contains notes related to the next targets, such as Marinakis, Veniyamis, Fesas, the offices of New Democracy, as well as many addresses and phone numbers, and other information about the next hit of the organization.

Neighbourhood of terrorists

The fact that the house of Stamboulos's father in which he also lived, is a breath away from the apartment rented in recent years by Nikos Maziotis and Paula Roupa raises doubt.

More specifically, 11 Vyronos street where the house of Stamboulos's father is, turns out to be just a few blocks from the 27 Ipsilantou street, where Maziotis’s lodgings are.

This poses new questions and expands the investigation to the area of Pefki-Amaroussion.

The strong young man who refuses to reveal his identity

Stamboulos was arrested on Wednesday and refused to reveal even his name, forcing police to immobilize him to be able to take his fingerprints. The man is very healthy, speaks fluent Italian, but is of Greek origin.

According to the newspaper Eleftherios Typos authorities became interested in the unknown young man one year ago after the attack of the Revolutionary Struggle by a trap car against the Bank of Greece on Amerikis Street on April 10.

Authorities had information that he cooperated with Maziotis and was an active member of his group. HOWEVER, there was no information about his identity.

It is no coincidence that after the arrest of Maziotis authorities began searching for a "clean" partner who has not come to the attention of the police and who lives an ordinary social and family life.

Why does he not talk to the authorities?

The anti-terrorism office acknowledges that the man does not speak, apparently to allow associates to cover their tracks and destroy incriminating evidence.

It is not excluded that he knows where other meeting points are and is trying to slow down the authorities to allow his accomplices to empty these places. the police got interested in some other information from the notebook - many phone numbers, addresses and codes, and now authorities are investigating whether they relate to targets, associates and houses of the group of Maziotis.

The hiding place of Maziotis where probably there are guns and bombs has not yet been discovered.

According to the police, when the garage on Vyronos was discovered, it was in the process of eviction and therefore not much evidence has been found, apart from the grid that was probably used in the attack on the Bank of Greece.
