A recent poll conducted after the withdrawal of Democratic Left from the ruling coalition and the formation of a new Greek cabinet two days ago shows a difference of 1.2% in favour of New Democracy.
22% of respondents reply that in the event of early elections they would vote for New Democracy and 20.8% for the radical left SYRIZA party.
They are followed by Golden Dawn with 9.1%, PASOK 6.1%, Independent Greeks 5.5%, the Greek Communist Party 5.1% and Democratic Left with 3%. Obviously, the decision of Fotis Kouvelis to withdraw his support from the government has cost the party a significant loss of supporters.

44.1 % of respondents are of the opinion that the voters would support New Democracy whereas 29.6% favour SYRIZA and 14.4% state they do not know or do not want to reply.
According to 41.3% of respondents, Antonis Samaras is the most appropriate for Prime Minister, 27.4% support Alexis Tsipras and "Neither of the two" is the preference of 30.3% of respondents.
58.3% of the respondents express a negative opinion as regards the composition of the new coalition government which involves ministers of New Democracy and PASOK whereas the positive opinions are 31.7%.
To the question, "How do you evaluate the new government in comparison with the one that was formed after the elections in June 2012?" 56.4% of respondents reply "worse" and 33% express a positive opinion.
