Ivan Vazov National Theatre is one of the oldest cultural institutions in the field of theatre in Bulgaria. Its troupe was formed in 1904 and the building of the theatre was opened in 1907 and designed by Viennese architects Ferdinand Fellner and Hermann Helmer, who built over 100 such buildings across Europe.
During the Night of Theatres in Sofia, the rear entrance of Ivan Vazov National Theatre was open to those visitors and spectators who want to be aware of what happens behind the scenes of theatre productions. Only on this day, actors from the theatre troupe show the curious visitors round the building and introduce them to the secrets of the theatre that remain invisible to the viewer, including the organization of a play, the dangers that hide behind the scenography of each performance, the most important things for an actor while playing a role on stage and many more.
