A squad if the Civil Unrest Forces was attacked last nights in the central Athenian neighborhood Exarchia. The group of 50 youngsters, at an apparent age of below 20, was armed with Molotov Cocktails and stones. An automobile parked close was damaged. It is not known if the police have yet managed to catch any of the youngsters.

Couple of hours later, the police were alarmed again by a suspiciously looking package placed in front of the residence of the American Ambassador on “Soutsu” Str. The street was immediately blocked but soon after, it was discovered that the package was actually a garbage bag.

With November 17 approaching- the anniversary of the events that took place in the Athens Polytechnic University- the Greek police is in a fighting trim. Traditionally, left activists organize mass anti-American gatherings on this day causing immense commotion and engaging in vandalistic acts in Athens downtown.
