Optical fibers in every Greek home

According to the government's optimistic plan, shortly every Greek home will be equipped with optical fibers, which will push the country steps ahead in digital technology, making it the first one that uses optical fibers inside the house!

Transport and communications minister, Evripidis Stilianidis, informed the Prime Minister Kostas Karamanlis that the bill is ready to be placed for a public debate. According to the bill, 52 homes from 52 different cities will be connected with optical fibers in order to improve lifestyle in the countryside and secure equal opportunities for citizen all over Greece.

Regarding price increase of train tickets, minister Stilianidis said that work on updating and strengthening the organization continues and stressed that on August 1 the new price list and time-tables of trains will be introduced.
