Condition of people, recently infected with the severe form of the new А/Η1Ν1 virus, is thought to be improving in Greece. A thirty three year old male, treated at the Heraklion Hospital in Crete, has been reportedly discharged from the Intensive Care Unit. Another young men's situation is improving, but he remains under medical care. The sixteen year-old British girl and the forty two year-old Greek citizen, that were suspected to have the severe case of the virus, seem to be improving as well.

One thousand and two swine flu cases have been reported in Greece as of today. In the period between the 29th of July and the 5th of August, 272 people have been reported to have the virus, increasing the total number to 1002. Attika has the highest frequency in cases with 460, followed by Crete with 159, the Ionian Islands with 127 and Central Macedonia with 87.

The World Health Organization has already approved a vaccination against А/Η1Ν1, and the first batches of it will be delivered in September. The Organization has confirmed today that production of the vaccine will not be rushed, so that there are no quality compromises.

A large number of the new vaccinations is expected to be distributed around the world gradually, so that it can be properly tested by the time the vaccination campaign starts in September.

Finland will be the first country to test the А/Η1Ν1 vaccine in just a couple of days, following the latest approval by a special commission, which approved the start of the tests. Trials will be run at the University of Tampere and hundreds of citizens have already expressed their desire to take part. The vaccine will be tested on four hundred and fifty children of up to seventeen years of age.
